In a House Commerce Committee mark-up session of H.R.3101 (the "21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010"), Wisconsin Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin offered an amendment, fashioned after her Community Access Preservation Act (HR 3745), which would provide protections for local public, education, and government access television channels and facilities. Though she withdrew the amendment, Committee Chairman Henry Waxman assured her: "You've raised a very important issue that we need to look at more carefully, and I want to consult with Mr. Boucher, Mr. Barton and Mr. Stearns and you further on what we can do in this area."
