http://www.craftanimations.com, in Part 1 of this turbo tutorial on Craft 4-Wheeler Extended you will learn how to rig and animate a sports car through physics simulations inside of XSI, Cinema4D, 3ds max or Maya, with Craft Director Studio. At the end of this part the autonomous mode is exemplified by automatically letting the car follow a spline path (path constraing in 3ds max, or motion path in maya). For velocity controlled spline animation you should check out the Craft Spline Speed-Controller - Turbo Tutorial, it's a killer tool for any vehicle animator, as well as for Camera animators.

  • One question... how does a car react with another car... for example, making 2 cars hit side to side several times or make them crash each other front to front, what would it do to the cars and the animation???

    PS: great tutorial. =)

  • @325anime Unfortunately the cars do not react at all with each other, unless you use a physics engine.

  • someone please make a tutorial with cinema 4d i cant seem to get it to work =( i have used 4 different models now, and the model just bounces and glitches around

  • @warror135 Please contact our support at support[at]craftanimations[dot]com or call +46 31 352 29 90 (between 9-17 CET) to help you out with your problem.

  • If you would choose one we recommend you choose a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad (you can purchase it directly from Logitech's homepage if you can find it in stores). The reason for this one is that if you download the massive, complex demo-scenes that we will output on our homepage soon they are all mapped to this particular gamepad.

  • Any joystick/gamepad is ok.

  • your voice changes per part 1 and part 2, spooky

  • is 3d max craft?

  • OHH My GOD!!

This is The coolest Video Hav seen Ever!!

Man I didnt know Can joy be attched with PC to control Values in 3ds max???

  • guess you use a nurbs surface. On such a surface you can only use max/maya's own raycast which is really slow. Convert your surface to a poly, at least as a surface to drive on (you can still use the nurbs for rendering and simply hide the poly)

  • great job man, i love this tools!!! make things alot easier.

  • Hi I have a problem with the

    UNSUPORTED SURFACE TYPE

Suport for this kind of surface has not yet been implemented for Fast Raycast for this adaptor. Fast Raycast is therefore cancelled.

    what it's mean? helpppp
