He performed at the 1978 Texas World Music Festival at the Cotton Bowl in 1978 with his friend Jan Michael Vincent seated on stage to his left all sunburned wearing filthy cut of blue jean shorts, drunk out of his mind shit faced drunk trying his best not to puke and fall out of his chair into it. I was with the medical team and hoping like hell I didn't have to carry that nasty looking piece of buzzard bait to the medical triage tent if he died. I'm glad Ray is up and still kicking.

I'm a 5th generation native Texan,and I married a Michiganite(moved here when she was 3 y.o) It took about 20 yr. of dialect training,teaching her how good chicken fried steak,bar-b-q(brisket and sausage-NOT hamburgers and hot dogs),Shiner,guns,4x4's,a Davis Mtn. sundown,and swimming holes in the Hill Country are,I let her start calling herself a Tejanita.
It took awhile,but it was worth it !!! LOL

I can not believe you said that. Not being born in Texas doesnt mean you cant be a TEXAN. That is the great thing about Texas is that we will accept people that arent perfect (aka being born outside of Texas) as long as they do the Texas things that make Texans Texan. Ray Wylie has always been a Texan...and he will die a Texan.
