This video follows the progress of my Arduino powered Haunted Mansions display for Halloween 2010.

The video playback was triggered by an Arduino UNO connected to a photocell switch. This sent a command over the connected USB cable to AutoHotKey to begin video playback in the VLC player.

  • so basically you just aim a protector at a few statue heads with video footage of people singing or talking... sounds easyer enough thank you

  • @Sillyzombie666 pretty much, projecting on the heads give a really cool 3D effect.

  • Remarkable! I know who they did it at Disney's Haunted Mansion - nice seeing it done in the "real(?) world."

  • So, Disney magic is not affordable for home users... hmm... now where is my princess?

  • That was awesome.

  • Most epic Halloween decoration!

  • The audio looks offtime which really detracts from the video.

  • @TheNewHobbyist ya i volunteer at a haunted house in october and i've been wanting to do an effect like this. we do un guided tours so having a head saying COME CLOSER or KEEP GOING or just telling a looping story would really help with baiting groups
