This is my 1986 Corvette. My wife named him Frankenstein. Frankie for short. I restored this car from the ground up. It was a neglected C4 Corvette. I got the car with a new built up 350 engine. I restored the entire car myself. I painted it, reupholstered the seats, new black interior, weatherstripping, air conditioning system. I changed the 700R4 trans to a 4+3 Doug nash transmission. I also rebuilt the 4+3 overdrive myself. New tires, brakes, rack & pinion. Upgraded the alternator, new digital dash. I can go on and on, but lets just say. This car is like a brand new 1986 Corvette. It has it all. You wont find one swirl in my black paint. Its black glass. I have never done so much work on a car. I am keeping it for life.

  • Hi Guys. Thanks for all the nice comments. I dont know if I am going to sell my Corvette. I also have two Cadillacs. A 1978 Seville and a 1970 Sedan Deville hardtop. But. If I do decide to sell it. I will send a message to all that are interested. Thanks.

  • Thank you very much. May be selling it soon.

  • Hi. You will have to sand and smooth it down. I sanded down until I saw a black primer on the fiberglass. Then used a 2k primer/sealer then base and of course clear. If you want to fix rips and holes in the bumpers. 3M makes a two part epoxy that works awesome. You apply it to the damaged area after sanding and with 15 minutes it turns to the same texture of the bumper. You can then sand and smooth it down. Its very easy to work with. Not cheap. Like 40 bucks for two large tubes. Good Luck.

  • nice vette serious question my lcd lights went out in my dash how do i fix that ?

  • @davidvette1 Sounds like a ground for the digital dash. Google 1986 Corvette digital dash. You will find a lot of information on corvette forums. I purchased a book that covers all the components of the digital dash and LCD's. Make sure the sun does not beat down on the LCD"s when you have your targa top off. Eventually they will get bleached and you wont be able to see the digits or the graphs. The LCD's should be black when the car is off. Look up Scarabex on ebay. Gary repairs these dashes.

  • Excellent C4 you have there! Not sure why he's Frankenstein, this C4 looks very well done! You did an excellent job in your restoration. :)

I've always held a liking for C4 corvettes, and I hope someday I'll get my hands on one to restore!

  • @Flashvette

Hello, I am interested in purchasing if you are selling. Please let me know. I will take excellent care of your work/project like it was my own.

Hello, I am interested in your vehicle should you need to sell it. I would give it a garage and treat it like family. I know how hard it is to let go of one, I lost mine in my first marriage and never got her back. let me know if I can help.

  • Dude, I am from Pinellas - lived in PH, Clw, SSP all my life. I just left and moved to LV.

Please let me know if you are selling at anytime. I gave up my 86' when I got married, same exact car, but I had a spoiler. I have been working on restoring an 86' for 3 years an I will never do it as good as you. Please put me at the top of your list.

  • Great job man! The car looks awesome!
