Weyoun, the Vorta. Another great recurring character from Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Here's some fun facts about the Vorta species:

1. All Vorta are clones.
2. They are immune to most poison.
3. They have weak eyes but exceptional hearing.
4. They have a limited sense of taste.
5. They generally have no appreciation for art.

***Special Thanks to Brian for his equal interest in Weyoun, invaluable critiques, and introducing me to DS9 five years ago!*****

Some additional Weyoun Moments I like:

Weyoun 4 has a hilarious scene in which he is completely unenthusiastic about administering Ketracel-White to the Jem'Hadar.
(Episode: "To the Death")

Weyoun 5 attempts to admire a painting and asks Kira, "Would this be more aesthetically pleasing if it were blue?"
(Episode: "Favor the Bold"

Weyoun 6 (the defective clone) seemed to enjoy his platter of food based on the pleasing textures, not tastes.
(Episode: "Treachery, Faith and the Great River"

Weyoun 7 questions Damar about his drinking habits. By this time, their working relationship becomes visibly and hilariously tense.
(Episode: "Penumbra")

Weyoun 8 fears he "..could be the last Weyoun" when the cloning facility is detroyed.
(Episode: "The Changing Face of Evil")

The Weyoun line first appears in "To the Death" in the guise of Weyoun 4. He is killed by his own Jem'Hadar First after questioning his men's loyalty.

Weyoun 5 first appears in an attempt to convince a Cardassian defector to return home and face trial (episode "Ties of Blood and Water"), and is the first to serve as commander of Dominion forces in the Alpha Quadrant.

At some point between the episodes "Shadows and Symbols" and "Treachery, Faith, and the Great River", he is killed in a transporter accident that may have been arranged by Legate Damar.

Weyoun 6 tries to defect to the Federation but sacrifices his own life in order to prevent Odo's death.

Weyoun 7 is activated after the discovery of Weyoun 6's attempt to defect, and is subsequently killed by Lieutenant Commander Worf ("Strange Bedfellows").

Elim Garak kills Weyoun 8 during the Cardassian underground's assault on Dominion headquarters during the Battle of Cardassia ("What You Leave Behind, Part II"). Upon his death, the Female Changeling observes that Weyoun 8 was the last Weyoun clone, a fact that Garak, who loathed Weyoun, finds most gratifying and replies: "I was hoping you'd say that!"

A ninth Weyoun appears in the non-canon novels of the Deep Space Nine relaunch.

  • Jeffrey Combs, what a talent. Him and Andrew Robinson were so good in that series

  • Weyoun is definitely one of the crowning creations of the DS9 legacy. Fantastic writing, and I can't imagine anyone but Jeffrey Combs playing that role. He's a perfect example of the 'lovable villain'. Great tribute, MollieCat!

  • Weyoun 5: "My predecessor was the fourth incarnation of our noble progenitor, I am the fifth..."

    Sisko: "Imortality,"

    Weyoun 5: "of a sort!...Interested?"

Always sly, always able to sneak in a subtle craftiness, an offer you can't refuse or a bribe. Second only to Quark in guile.

  • seven klingons have no sense fpr asthetics!

  • My favorite is Weyoun's lavender eyes. He had me at "hello."

  • They should get him to guest star on an episode of CSI or House. Then I'll watch them.

  • I've like Combs in DS9, but He really shined in Enterprise and at the same time playing The Question in Justice Leagu Unlimited. His best line while talkng to the Huntress via radio while searching thru' containers in a cooler? "Ah-HA...thirty TWO flavors..."(a Baskin-Robbins reference).

  • @wanderkind0 totally agree!

  • Loved it!

  • As Backgroundmusic I would prefer Angel of Death by Slayer^^

  • any fan video keeping ds9 Alive is great!!

  • Terrible!!! The creator of this video compilation is not aware that making a tribute video to someone also has to include that someone's voice. Instead, I only hear this horrific sounds that would be an insult to music if I'd call it that..
