one rogue stake president (mormon leader) goes crazy and orders this massacre... abusing religious power and somehow it undermines the mormon faith. Nephi, the LDS superhero, kills Laban, Captain Moroni kills many, other people smite the wicked (e.g. decapitation)...the entire Book of Mormon is a Book of War. And "President" John Taylor went crazy. He chose to go to war with a nation that did not want or deserve his kind.

My fav character,one of the most prominent in the film,the young Mormon that disagreed with what was happening & spoke out against it. I don't know if his character was based on a real person or not?

It shows that the leaders of THiS Mormon group followed blindly the decision to kill the people...believing they were doing God's will.They chose that day to kill unarmed people. It might have not been done exactly as this movie portrayed,but we can learn from it..if not the movie,the event.
