Did you know that hummingbirds hang around all winter in North Vancouver, British Columbia? They also fly over 10 stories high, unlike what other folks might say at the wild bird seed store...here's the proof! P.S. but you have to keep their feeders free from ice!! As we learned, bring their feeders in at sundown and put at first thing in the a.m., and you might want to use a paper clip to unblock any ice. They will be back in no time!

  • My first ever video to post on YouTube was seeing this hummingbird on our 10th floor balcony here in on the Capilano Reserve in North Vancouver, British Columbia. We've learned to bring the feeder in at night so it doesn't freeze. These beautiful, tiny birds need to eat constantly due to their high metabolisms...hence the rapid wing movement. I love these birds and seeing their beauty every day during the year in our balcony window!

  • @madden5413 that red crap is nectar you dufus... why do you think they r comin there???

  • Nice, but you're not doing the birds any favors by using that red crap in it.

  • Great stuff! I had no idea until this storm hit that hummingbirds could survive and thrive in freezing, snowy weather. Seeing the seagull in the background on your clip accentuated how tiny and tough these little hummingbirds are.
