Through lots of trial and error, I came up with this process to restore old bakelite dials and knobs. The more you try these steps, the better results. Be sure to watch PART 2.

  • Wow..! Those knobs look new.! Thanks for the tips.

  • You work on these things until 3 in the morning too!!!! I've been known to do that and solder my fingers into the circuits or pick up the wrong end of the soldreing iron at about 3 AM. But it's fun & often the only quiet time in the house to do that! Nice home made "Ghetto Brush" for the knobs!!!
