Hearing this, seeing this video, it brings tears to my eyes. Truly. It brings back SO many wonderful memories.

I played this song over and over again when my sister passed away suddenly. I just tell myself that she drifted to hushabye mountain and is there waiting for me when my boat carries me away to. Gives me a picture in my mind of her standing on the shore waving at me while her hair blows in the breeze with such a peaceful expression on her face.

I live Sally Ann Howes voice! She's magnificent! :) And of course I love Dick Van Dyke. He's really good too. They sing this song wonderfully. Thanks for posting.

That is, and always was, a very touching melody. Look at Dick just there - he couldn't quite finish the verse (i think he got a tad emotional, maybe?) and Sally Ann had to pick it up after he nods to indicate he can go no further at that point. A very evocative tune, yes. Thanks for posting this up. :o)
