yeah what you saying is correct, but the catch is not that we need to change the engine parts, it is actually that algae biodiesel could not be produced commercially feasible yet
if i were you killmaster i wouldent pay a peny ! for that stock or the company of that mad scientist in the video you told me to watch.. the guy is realy pathetic with all this greenish bubling water sacks around him (hahaha..), which ofcourse could never be practical due to high cost and because it needs alot of fossil co2 from coal or petrolium energy factories etc etc
Hmmm Manolis1080 I can't help but wonder if you don't work for the government A.K.A. big oil. The ratio of land use to oil yeild has already been determined the leftover biomass has also been determined to be a good vehicle for the production of ethanol... or high protien animal feed. It's a matter of time and isolating the best species of algae, that will grow sufficiently and yeild the most fat or Vegatable Oil. Try not to be so closed minded my friend there are many brilliant minds on this.
ok manolis you have no idea what you are talking about. take a look at this, here is one company that makes algal biodeisel right now. search for this youtube video "Vertical Algae biofuel Growing (see description and invest)" and there are others. but just look at this for now.
It's true that MB has developed many Diesel inventions. But Honda has put together an amazing program in a short period of time, including inventing and applying for a patent on a electrically powered plasma catalyst that does not require urea.
well then mister geoffreyphilip just tells us then how much biodiesel from algae those 2 companies have produced and at what cost ??!! perhaps 3 litres for 300$ all costs in..?perhaps you should wait for 50 years or so for those algaes to grow in your garden! cause i personaly dont give it anytime at all..!
look, i'm no expert. i dont have it written down how much it costs. but its cheap enough to sell commercially. but they need big bucks to build the big closed environment, since its not open pond where they're harvesting algae. it takes 24 hours to double itself. in other words its the fastest growing organism on earth. so its doesnt take 50 years.
Algae doubles in size every 4 hours, eats co2 and produces oxygen and can produce 10,000 to 20,000 gallons of biodiesel per acre per year or more. There are problems, but I saw some research that even making it in the lab is currently cost effective, which is generally never the case. (Yes I know sources would make me look less a fool so take this with a grain or two of salt :))
