Update on my Oscar tank. I have removed some of the decorations in place of some peices of 4" PVC pipe, it is simplistic but serves it's perpous. They are all doing great though.

could i use 2 ,125 gallon sponge filters in a 55 gallon tank with 1 oscar and a pleco in it?

Green terrors are nasty as hell. they bullies all the fishes in my tank, they are all chiclids, and they can kill an oscar bigger than them. and then one they i bought a malawi chiclids smaller than the green terror. they fought and the malawi chiclids won.

If you had a big enough tank it could work, but you never know as they mature they could become territorial and you still could have problems. That is just the risks of keeping cichlids. If you have a big enough tank, I say go for it, but just a tip, get the Oscar and GT at the same time and make sure they are about the same size.

how big do oscars get? I am thinking about getting some.

They can get 15 inches, so make sure to have a tank that is atleast 18 inches wide.
