@Savillefish - total crap. otto was shit. hunt was worse. the other two i've never heard of. i tell what would have happened if fry would have stayed - southend would still be a shit small club. your place is with the dagenhams and the crawleys. whereas birmingham are now in europe - all thanks to barry! come on the blues

There is still a disregard for Birmingham because of Frys move to Birmingham even to this day. He took most of our team (otto, Bodley, Edwards, Hunt), where at the time we were 3rd at Xmas, and finished midtable, and the same season took Brum down. I'll always wonder what would have happened if he had stayed

Yes I have often wondered whether he would have taken Southend to the Premiership. I remember Fry going back to Roots Hall just prior to Xmas 1993 and Southend turning us over 3-1.
