The eIUS Project highlights the successful use of e-Infrastructure. Researchers within the Wide-Field Astronomy Unit at the University of Edinburgh are developing a virtual observatory, AstroGrid, that brings together a large amount of data from disparate observation archives, storage, tools and computational power through a suite of desktop applications, available to anyone who needs to use it. Researchers have also developed other supporting tools, including PaperScope, for scanning literature and tracking citation. The eIUS Project is funded by the JISC and supported by the University of Oxford and University of Manchester.
