Turn down the Release to zero, then it will stop as soon as you let go of the key. Adjust for more tail end.

how do i stop a slice playing the whole slice?for eg. u hit pad1,and say half way thru that slice playing,u hit pad2.. pad2 cuts off the slice being triggered by pad1,now the slice being triggered by pad2 lasts abit too long, and theres a bit on the end that is usually cut off when u hit pad1 again, now say i dont hit pad1 again coz i want it to just cut out at the1st beat of the next bar and have the beat playing on its own,but the remaining "useless" part of slice2 bleeds over to the next bar

@jasmin21BHF If you use the FPC look on the right hand side of the plugin and drag the "cut" and "cut by" both from zero to one. You have to change this for every pad you use for your chops. Then it should cut off when you hit the next pad.

nice trick... @nathan56283 ummm mpc will NEVER be obsolete... you CANNOT emulate the sound you get.... people still use sp1200s why? b/c the sound...people still use tube amps why? b/c the sound... i know producers that ditched their mpc5000xl b/c its doesn't sound like a 2000xl...

@treblemc if you still have latency issues check out asio4all. I had midi lag with 16gb of RAM until i got asio4all
how do you stop the sample slices cutting each other of when u hit another pad?would be nice to play them over each other
thanks

@Lukeyjfry turn up polyphony to whatever amount of sounds you want to play. Polyphony set to 1 only allows 1 sound at a time, 2 allows 2, etc.

the only problem with this is latency issues, an mpd is nothing like an MPC, i have an mpc and use midi & reason, an mpd is just a midi trigger no different to a midi keyboard, an mpc is a music production tool & unlike a computer it wont crash or freeze & its designed specifically for the purpose of producing music. i use both though, i only use the mpc to get ideas out like a first draft & do the final production on my computer because i master my beats as well

@treblemc If you have a decent computer with a reasonable amount of RAM you'll never have latency issues. Moreso, if you own a Mac you'll be good in terms of crashes/freezes forever. Never had any problem with Reason on both my Macs.
