Suzuki SV650S motorcycle with M4 exhaust and K&N intake

Just doing a sound test with my second generation SV650S. It has a 180 rear tire on the stock rim. Not advisable to do - previous owner takes the credit.

was it hard to learn how to ride a motorcycle? i know how to drive manual, but a motorcycle is slot different

@speacialperson12345 It's very different. Going straight is extremely easy - the faster you go, the more stable and upright the bike wants to be. The only two things that require skill are: 1. Turning. There's a lot to turning, angle, shortest path around a curve, speed. Things like breaking will upset the balance when done in a turn. So there's a lot of rules and methods to it. 2. Staying out of the way of cars and staying alive. I recommend "twist of the wrist II". Available in book or DVD.

that sounds an awful lot like mine.. gots me an 07 naked. course, I'm cheap.. so I just chopped 8 inches off the stock exhaust and took out most of the insides.. Yours has a better deep rumble - mine sounds more like a pissed off sprint car XD

Yeah, that's one thing I noticed, most S650 exhausts sound the same. The pitch and bass vary a little, but overall they are very similar.

@deanwrx1: Yep, I was a pretty regular visitor until about 2008 or so. No regrets. Oh btw... my track SV has a stocker with RT springs and valving, but my street/commuter SV (also track-prepped) is a '00 carbed SV, with a Fox TC shock and '99 GSX-R750 inverted front end w/ TL-S calipers. To be honest... I'd rather have the modded stock front end on the street than the '99 fork, just because fork tech has come leaps and bounds since then. :/

@HotRodCapone35 Its 2005+. Starting in 2005, the frames/wheels where black. You don't need a K&N air filter to get this sound. But it is a cheap performance mod. I added it to my 2003 SV. Suzuki still sells this model in a full faired version like in this video. I've heard the M4 exaust in person. Sounds amazing. Although my Leo Vince also sounds great. :)

@mojojojo928 Hey, no prob. The F3 is quite heavy. Someone weighed the 06+ gsxr 600 wheel with 180 tire and compared it to F3 wheel with 160 tire. The gsxr has stock steel sprocket, the F3 has aluminum sprocket. The F3 combo is still 1.6 lbs heavier: forum.svrider.com/showpost.php­?p=1792082&postcount=981 (put the h-t-t-p to make url work). I only occasionally visit svrider - its got more bs than real technical posts. But i did learn how to do the gsxr front end conversion from guys there.

@deanwrx1: Whoops sorry for the late reply... really? Is the Bandit wheel actually lighter? Seems like if that were the case, more roadracers here would use it... but then again not all of them have the time or resources to go with something that isn't proven as raceworthy, at least in my club.

There used to be a guy on SVRiders (who left, as I did, due to lame treatment by mods and 'masters) who made custom swingarms for the Gen 1, no more. Guess OEM and 5.0 on my Gen 2 is my destiny. :p

@mojojojo928 A 5.5" rim easily fits in the swingarm (i've done the bandit 1200 and now the 07 gsxr 600 rear rim). Just need the right spacers and mods to the sprocket carrier for the newer gsxr rims. The 06+ gsxr 600/750 rims are super light (about 7 lbs lighter than bandit 1200 rim). With 180 tire and aluminum sprocket, weight is same as stock sv rim with 160 tire. Its hard to believe, but the F3 rim is actually heavier than the bandit 1200 rim. The SV swingarm is pretty lame. Make your own. :)

@deanwrx1 : Correct -- that's most likely a conversion to a wider rim. I don't know that a 5.5 will play nice with the SV's narrow-gauge swingin' arm, but then again I don't roadrace with a 5.5, my conversion is a 5.0 from a CBR600F3, which is a common club racing swap. Getting a 180/5.5 from a Bandit is just for looks, in my book... would be significantly heavier than the Honda 5.0, too. :/

What I'm looking for, is a bridged swingarm that bolts onto my '04 that doesn't weigh 9-zillion lbs. :(

I should note the new M4 full systems are not nearly as punchy sounding... close but not offensive to neighbors unless you go wide open on the throttle...
