Gion Matsuri 2011 in Kyoto (+Nijo Castle)

Headed to Kyoto bright early in the morning for the most significant day of the Gion Matsuri (祇園祭). I chose to go on the busiest day because I wanted to see the crowd but I underestimated the amount of people there =_=. What was worse was sweaty people in sleeveless shirts coming in contact with me!! Groooossss . Anyways, so about the parade... the floats are pretty much all big heavy wooden carts, so it takes a lot of man power to push them. It is especially hard to turn corners; they had to put these sticks at the bottom of the wheels to ease them in turning. Overall, it was pretty interesting! After that I went to Nijo Castle (二条城) just because I haven't been and wanted to go xD

Nijo castle is very nice, the gardens, the history of it, and the creaking floor. What was the temperature like?
