This is a remake of the Beatles' tune, Eleanor Rigby. I recorded this in my home studio in 1994. Hope you enjoy it!

Trivia for the curious (or just plain bored):

My folks used to visit a friend of theirs and they'd drag me along so I spent some time in the guy's closet, rummaging through old 45s and such. He said I could take some of them SO... I grabbed a few. I put one on the turntable when I got home and it was the first Beatles song I'd ever heard. Eleanor Rigby. On the flipside was Yellow Submarine. Another 45 was Light My Fire and I can't recall the others.

This tune incubated for about 20 years and then one day I just started playing the melody on the guitar and thought it would translate well into a rock instrumental.

It was the first song I recorded/mixed/etc. for my CD. The mix is a bit cluttered as I hadn't many effects to use and it was my first mix. The arrangement and performance is good but there is a touch of noise in the guitars since I used a different amp for this than the rest of my CD (sans one exception, the solo to Shores of Lavender).

I used a custom guitar I put together in 1983. EMG pickups, floyd rose vibrato, solid rosewood neck. Amp was a Seymour Duncan convertible 100W combo. A strange beast with changeable preamp modules.

My favorite part of this song is, of course, the solo. It just rips, even if I DO say so myself. :) So, I thought it'd be cool to have me actually playing (pick syncing?) to it in the vid. I'm actually playing the spots but just not pressing with my tips like I would normally due to the fingertip injuries).

I never owned a Beatles album but did buy a cassette of some collection at one time. Those guys were something.
