My theory as to what each song in the Killers' Murder trilogy means, with excerpts of the lyrics and explanations of them.

  • So I know now that I made a mistake about saying it was the trial. It should have said interrogation. I'll correct it.

  • this is sweet. I think you were actually pretty close. Thanks for taking the time to analyze the lyrics. Though honestly i read somewhere that Jenny Was a Friend of Mine was actually during the interigation and they hadn't actually gone to trial yet but i don't know.

  • It's all just epic right? I mean brandon didn't really kill anyone right xD

  • this is so awesome c: I love the killers ^^

  • this might just be my crazy talking, but does anyone think bones might have somethingto do with all of this? "and in the ocean we'll hold hands"?

  • @JandDLive so are you saying that it would go: Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf, Midnight Show, Under the Gun, Jenny was a Friend of Mine, and then Mr. Brightside?

And I think they are going to do a new one with "Candy" from " This s Your Life" on "Day & Age" because of what their website looks like with the lyrics "Candy talks to stranger."

  • well done! excellent work!!

  • there's always time... :D

  • it's on Sawdust! :)

  • Even though it's a trilogy, I'm convinced that there's a fourth song or fifth. What happens to him? I know many people have said that Mr. Brightside has nothing to do with it but, he's coming out his cage(jail). And in Under the Gun they mention she isn't coming back and she can only set him free. Like the song goes right after midnight show and he has second thoughts. they also mention heaven alot in under the gun.

  • I also read Jenny Was A Friend of Mine as him being questioned by police after being arrested rather than actually being on trial.

"II know my rights, I've been here all day' - the police can hold only hold him for so long without charging him, a trial can go on for however long it takes.

a nice twist in the live version on the second chorus he sings 'she kicked and screamed while I held her throat'.

  • I think that it means that she couldnt scream when he held her close, like as if she never screamed because she was safe in his arms and he swore he wud never let her go :D Yay The killers!

Do you no if its true or anything. if brandon (r sumone else in the band) knew this girl?
