President Barack Obama's historic victory created a daily reminder to Americans that success does not come in just one ethnic package. And the president's brief stop in South Korea offers people there a reminder of their own country's evolution toward a multicultural society. VOA's Kurt Achin reports from Seoul.

  • Koreans are not a "pure race". This is a political slogan used for many years to keep harmony and unity in the country. Maybe even for hundreds of years. Not many ppl today care about pure race, but being "Korean", forwhatever that means. Stereotypes of blacks come from older poor Koreans who immigrated to the US, who have only seen poor black people. And nobody in Korea enjoy those crazy people in the subway. They treat all races the same way. Actually, 99% of Koreans hate crazy ppl in subways.

  • I wish they'd stop legitimising Korean racism. It's not just white people that can be racist.

i agree all with you but one - koreans are PURE race! i would not allow myself to mix with any other races (even chinese or japanese).

  • Haven't you heard of survival of the species. It's only natural to favor your own race. We're all prejudice!

  • @Fungusjones, Say no to racist belifes like yours, oh guess what Korea passed an anti-racism laws so looks like racists like you will be in hot water.
