I rolled over, pushed the off button on my alarm, and pulled the covers back over my head. My name is Chanel Stella Hayden, I am 13, I named after the famous fashion designer Coco Chanel, and I have a history test today that I am going to fail. And that pretty much covers my entire life. Well, no I guess it doesnt. My mom is Elizabeth Jane Hayden. She used to be a famous model on the New York City runway, but then when she was 17 she had me. Her parents through her out of the house. She thought that shed be jobless because you to be skinny to be a model. However she was the owner of Pradas favorite model so he gave her other jobs she could do at the same pay. At when I turned 9he realized I was beautiful, skinny, and had the It Factor. So I became a model for him.
Well enough about the past. I should probably tell you about me in the now. I still am a model for Prada. I also love to sing, which no one in my family can do. Which brings me to another thing. I spent my whole life growing without a clue from my mom as to who my father is. Whenever I bring up the subject I just get grounded. Its not like its hard to sneak out, but still, it sucks. But I have figured out a few things that are definitely true about him.
1.)My mom must still love him, because every time I bring it up she has that look in her eyes.
2.)He has curly hair because I do and no one else in my family does.
3.)He can sing well, because again no one in my family does.
4.)Hes still alive, because thats the only thing my moms told me about him.
I opened my closet and picked out a pair of leggings , heeled flip flops , and a silver and aqua tunic. Then I ran downstairs and grabbed a grapefruit from the fridge, sat down and had breakfast. Then my mom came down.
Elizabeth: Hey Chanel, good morning.
Chanel: Morning mom.
Elizabeth: Good luck on your history test today. And dont forget, I need out of school as quickly as possible today, for the fashion show tonight.
Elizabeth leaves their apartment.
Chanel goes up stairs and straightens her hair and brushes her teethe. Then grabs her backpack. Then walks to school.
Goes to her locker and sees and sees her best friends Lily and Mia standing by her locker.
Lily: Hi five, fellow soon to be history flunker!
Chanel: Lily come on, if I dont get at least a C, I wont be able when report cards come I wont be able to model for Prada.
Lily: Good point.
Mia: Guys, this is coming from the only one of us who has a brain. Youll both do fine on that test because I helped you study.
Chanel: Thank you so much Mia. If I pass this test I worship you forever!
Mia: No thanks, Ill pass on that offer, just hook me with a hot model .
Chanel: You got it!
Mia: Well, dont want to be late to drama class - the best class of the day!
heads off
Lily: Come on, lets go.
They both trudge off to history.

I took the test and it actually was a lot easier than I thought. Then the rest of school went by in a rush. I sprinted outside and jumped in to my moms car. My mom was the phone with Vogue Magazine the whole ride so I had to be quiet. Then we finally got to runway.
