My 5 month old son had this done a little over a year ago. And because of this surgery he is no longer completely blind. He can now live a normal life :D

dear sir, what is the prognosis in such cases with total white disc?

i had this done 4 years ago and was awake for the whole thing...the eye was numbed though all i felt was a lot of pressure on my eye...pretty much pain free

@beemoyo I guess alright. I didn't feel anything. It didn't hurt at all. I just had to sleep on my right side for a couple of days after the sergury. I recently went back to the doc and found out that I got another retinal tear. This time I got laser done (on the same eye) and it was terrible. The pain was so bad. It hurt my head and eye. I fainted after the procedure. Never again do I want to get that laser done. Now I get headaches and eye pains...

I'm really sorry for you. It's not like heart surgery but it's a quite serious matter!
However owing to improvement of tecnique and instruments, now we can get very good results!
Good luck!

It seems quite a torture but it's a very delicate surgery that can give back the view to who, otherwise, would loose it at all!

Sembra una tortura ma è un intervento di alta chirurgia che può ridare la vista a chi, altrimenti la perderebbe inesorabilmente!
