Help Me Get To The Childrens, Youth, and A New Kind of Christianity Conference (7-10 May, 2012)

For the past seven years I have been heavily involved in the youth and families ministries of the Brisbane Diocese of Australia. Since conversion my to Christianity and my reception into the Anglican Church of Australia, I have strongly felt God's calling and my vocation to young people and families within God's church. Yet there is such a gap with what I was learning at the university and what was being offered for young people and for kids. Basically I spent a lot of my time teaching my youth group members to unlearn a lot of things, particularly about their Zeus like image of God and the idea that the Bible fell from heaven in the King James English (leather bound of course).

When I first learned about this conference, I instantly knew that I wanted to go. The topic, the speakers, and the material was too important to pass up. This is something I want to be apart of. However, living in Australia, plane tickets and travel expenses are not cheap. I working part-time at the moment in the Holy Trinity Food Pantry, which helps feed the homeless and hungry of the Brisbane CBD and Valley, and I am still looking for more work to help save. I know that asking for money, particularly in this economic climate, is not exactly the most helpful thing in the world, but I really am going to need all the help I can get for this trip. If you can offer any sort of help, financial, spiritual or otherwise, please, by all means give what you can. I do not want anything to give beyond their needs, please, focus on yourselves. Give what you can spare, if you can spare anything at all. If anything, please, just pray for me and my pilgrim.
