@PlasticPilot I want to be a pilot just for this reason lol

@PlasticPilot Do you have a tiny penis?

youre a very good pilot :D

1:53 stall? :S

@theaustralianway There are always lots of armchair pilots too; while I may be guilty of it sometimes, I have seen lots of people use their extensive flight simulator experience to talk about how they would have done it better. I wasn't saying that the pilot was wrong, I was just saying that I would have been very uncomfortable with it. Perhaps he screwed up, perhaps he was perfect. I just found it to be unnerving.

@theaustralianway Yes, looking at the video again, it seems that it isn't as low as I remember. I think that the slope makes it very difficult to judge the approach angle in the video. I am glad there is a place to go. I know there are airports where there are no real alternate options if you don't have the runway made, but I would be very uncomfortable flying into them. In any case, I am not knocking the fact that it obviously takes a lot of skill to fly into that airport.

... (continued)... this is why you start hearing the stall warning.
anyways the best is to go there and try yourself...

yes there is a safety runway that is in fact a ski slope. it is below the forest at 1:10 and even further right. it is roughly 30degrees compared to the 18degres of the run asphalt runway. and it is in an average gliding slope.
as per his landing being low as you say, I think it is perfect; as the pilot should end his descent toward the runway when in horizontal visual of the entry painting marks, when above them you flair with no throtle decrease to keep momentum...

gliding to an airport is definitely very difficult when you are surrounded by mountains... i agree with you.
as per flying in these mountains you'd know that there is no ATC on most airfield.
as per knowing what i am talking about, this is where i learn to fly and still fly. And yes it is tres chouette.
I love reading these comments as so many of them are made by people who have never flown in this environment of steep runways but they still give lessons... many couch flyers... isn't it?

@theaustralianway Vous venez des alpes françaises? Vraiment? Cela devrait être très chouette. Est-ce que vous y volez beaucoup?
ICAO code is LFLJ
