Bjørn Lomborg, author of The Skeptical Environmentalist, predicts a disappointing outcome for the COP15 Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. "We are going to have a very beautiful worded document with lots of promises," he says. "There's a lot of vested interest in simply papering over the fact that the current process is not working."

  • predicting empty promises from political leaders is like predicting an another nasty winter in canada, anyone can do it and they will probably be right

  • Bjorn Lomborg makes an excellent point on R & D and investing in solutions, which he says was not discussed. Does it bother anyone that "saving the earth" for some means essentially crippling any kind of growth? When no one panics there should be all sorts of alarm bells in the West as to why "environmentalism" really has very little to do with the environment. All those Naomi Klein videos from COP15 earlier this week should have been a dead giveaway.

  • The Sun caused the past Global warming and now , entering a Grand minimum , it will cause the Planet to cool abruptly.

  • I am skeptical about whether the earth is warming, whether this is a bad thing, whether humans are the cause, or whether we can stop it. This man was only skeptical that the economic cost of 'saving the planet' was worth it. He already 'knew' the earth was warming. He wasn't a skeptic of global warming, he was a skeptic of things like carbon taxes and other expensive schemes. Now everyone is presenting this as akin to more "evidence" of climate change. "--% of scientists agree!" SO WHAT.

  • hasn't bjorn retracted? he's now no longer AGW i think

  • @govpavlicek

The title for this video is maybe a bit vague. He's not a "climate change skeptic", they're referring to him as a skeptic of the climate policies set by the politicians.

  • Well, Lomborg is one who always denied it. This sounds like a sort of admission, but he says "100 years from now". That remains to be see. Northpole melts right now. Icebears are in trouble. That is now, not 100 years form now. Nobody claimed victory, au contraire!

Geo engineering: here we come.... Because we aren't designed to focus on indirect dangers, we just can't be bothered by dangers in the future.

That is who we are, we aren't to blame for that. But 1 day this will be our demise.

  • Lomborg is just a blonde opportunist interested in book sales, targeting the book market segment of "popularized" science, while twisting the facts so the story fits deniers and green liberals alike.

Shame on the non-scientists Monckton and Lomborg: don't swallow the koolaid don't believe them.

  • I thought that he was from Southern Ontario.

  • He is a fantastic writer as well. If you haven't read some of his articles you should give yourself the opportunity to do so. He is fantastic.
