Before you get on the "Green Train" espousing Obama's energy policies on YouTube, reduce your energy usage and gas by 60%. If you choose to take a bus, subway, or train instead, account for that. Remember dirty energy accounts for 60% of electricity. Cut that back too!

@FreedomInAmerica Yes, that sounds all nice and good, but we are not exactly in the right economic position to do green free market.

The whole idea is that sometimes free markets works miracles, but other times it fails miserably.  We need to regulate the free market so they all play by the same rule and not try to bend the rules by lobbying. Alternative energy is important, but currently we do not have the infrastructure to let free market handle green energy yet since the recession.

@PorkChopMissPiggy I could go on but YT comments aren't the best way to have a long discussion. Whenever there is some benefit offered, people will so order their lives as to make themselves eligible for it. This has disastrous consequences. An atomised, selfish and dependant society, with a bloated control-freak government, is the result. The chronic debt in our two countries caused by this approach threatens to sink our economies.

Girls are 2.5 times more likely to have a teenage pregnancy. Women often have to work, when they would rather raise their own children. Our countries have native populations that are breeding at well below replacement level, making the welfare system unsustainable, and requiring large scale immigration.

@PorkChopMissPiggy The welfare system has largely destroyed the extended familial relationships, that once saw people through hard times. The nuclear family has come increasingly under attack. Divorce is rampant, largely brought by hypergamous women. Family courts are intent upon removing fathers from their children's lives. A single mother is financially better, on benefits, if she does not live with a man. The role of men has been demoted and denigrated. Women are encouraged to work.Continued

It shows the importance of familial bonds and a sense of civic values. Standards that have been largely lost in other industrial societies.
