We have the two best players in the world (Lebron and Kobe) and Uruguay isn't really on the level of Spain or Argentina so getting beat by the US is not a big deal. Uruguay would probably beat the US in soccer but basketball is our sport

Usa has 300 million people and just gets medals or championships in sports that in most of the countries of the world there are not played as baseball, american football. We are just 3 million people and we have 2 fifa world cups and 15 american cups. If Uruguay plays a game against usa in footbal (you call it soccer but the whole world calls it football) we beat you 4-0 or more. @pajamadude15 i agree pros are better in general (not always though), but disagree that they are a lot better. of course we are being very general in definitions. there are A LOT of college and even non college players that could compete with the pros with adequate training.
