Reflections of War - 14 Feb 09 - Part 1

On December 27, 2008, Israel's already crippling siege on the neighbouring Gaza Strip escalated into a brutal war. Al Jazeera was the only global news network reporting from both inside Gaza and Israel for the entirity of the conflict. Throughout Ayman Mohyeldin and Sherine Tadros brought news of the human tragedy unfolding to living rooms throughout the English speaking world. They found themselves as vulnerable as the civilians of Gaza and now they give their full accounts of what it was really like to report that war.

IDF broke the cease fire by killing 6 hamas militant in the gaza strip , they had stopped the rocket fire and were ready to renegotiate . I've just seen your page and it's enough for me, having done this before I wouldnt have comment you are a religious nut. The real problem with Hamas is not their action it's their charter and Israeli use it as a reason to keep doing what they have done for the last 60 years. Palestine don't exist? What a joke and what was there before Israel?British territory?

It's Palestinians that are paying the price of this very practical hysteria. For your information up to 1900 there was 5% Jews, 10% christians and 85% Muslims and NO WAR in this place.

Sometimes thier lives are put in danger because of the extent of reporting that they do, but I gotta give my respects to Ayman and the rest of the Aljazeera team for thier outstanding ongoing coverage of the Egyptian Protests. Clearly this is a pivotal event in history that will no doubt go into the books.

Medical Facilities destroyed: 21

Buildings Destroyed: At least 4000

Buildings Severely damaged: 20.000

People made homeless: 100,000

People without water: 400,000

Causalities:­

1312 Palestinians­ were killed including 417 children & 108 women, 5540 injured. Only 80% of the bodies were identified !

13 Israeli killed, including 10 soldiers.

Among the Palestinians­ deaths are 4 Journalists and 5 non-Palestin­ians.

Defintion:Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group.

That is exactly whats been happening to gazans!! if u disagree, what other defintion suites ur logic??

A weapons embargo is understandable, but banning things like pasta is just too much. Concrete too, you can't expect people to not try and rebuild after something like the Gaza invasion.

btw.....I dont mean to be a jerk.I feel for the kids and women.But 1200 out of 1.5 million people were killed.Some of like this woman act like it was a god damn genocide.I'm sure a some of those were hamas members also

@trollfinger I agree Israel shouldnt be bombing civilians but you cant possibly expect them to cease the blockades and just leave their borders for anyone to cross these people have a bad habit of using anything that moves for a suicide bomb
