While on a lunch break driving to a sub shop, I saw the stocking truck loading up the Sudbury River. I happen to have a rod in the truck. I never made it to the sub shop but had a great little break catching rainbows for about 15-20 minutes.
I was at work yesterday and the were stocking them yesterday in Ashland.I came out to watch them during my break. I had a rod in my car but didn't have time to fish.

Pretty sure its posted to not eat the fish in the Sudbury river due to mercury contamination

True, I wouldn't eat any of the native fish but the freshly stocked hatchery trout are fine.

They don't put much effort into it...they just toss 'em off a bridge. Aren't you supposed to spread them out?

They stock multiple portions of the river, so they sorta spread them out I guess.
