Japan & Korea & China are all sinosphere, so there are many similar points.

Chinese uses Kanji, so sometimes we can communicate with writing Kanji. But the pronounciation and grammar are quite different, so it is very hard to talk each other.

Korean mainly doesn't use Kanji, but some Kanjis' pronounciation is very similar.

No, かえる for returning home is 帰る。Kanji is different.

@syangjp 汉字就和拉丁字母一样。拉丁字母起源于意大利，但是被全球许多国­家使用。英语，德语，越南语等等都是用于拉丁字母，无所谓谁正统­。同样，汉字起源于中国，但是通行于东亚。所以，把汉字定义为是­中国的是错误的。
