This 10 minute video will review the Expressed Powers given to Congress by the United States Constitution. These Expressed Powers include the right to raise taxes, borrow money, regulate commerce, make naturalization and bankruptcy laws, coin/print money, punish counterfeiters, set up post offices and roads, create patent laws, set up tribunals or lower courts, punish piracy at sea, declare war, support the military, control the National Guard, and govern Washington, DC.

  • thanks 4 this

  • I was happily reading along using my own copy of the constitution until you got to the "Implied Powers/Elastic powers" on your list. That one wasn't in my copy. Instead, mine says "To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the FOREGOING powers (that means the ones you just listed), and all OTHER powers VESTED BY THIS CONSTITUTION in the Government..." Apparently, mine implies that all powers need to be enumerated. Go figure, huh.

  • I have to disagree with you on the National Guard being the militias. Once the National Guard was federalized they are no longer a militia. Militias are ultimately controlled by the governors and sheriffs, not the Federal government. Militias were separate from the "regulars", because the militias are "The People" and were a check for the Regulars. This kept the Federal government from using the Regular Army from controlling The People.

  • Did U SQAWK when cheney'sBUSH WASTED 1TRILLION U.S.TAX$ + INTEREST in the WRONG country?

Why would U want your grandchildren to live in a U.S. returned to a time prior to our present safety-nets when the UNfortunate old wandered the streets looking for the POORhouse?

  • Number 2 needs to be abolished by amendment in order to prevent enslaving your grandchildren with national debts that they are now unable to pay.
