I love the music and lyrics both. Brilliant. Jobim's 'Wave" had come out the year before and many were impacted by the Brazilian's genius, including Bacharach and Wilson, 2 others with the 'G' gene.

In that case i'd agree with you... this is clearly bossa nova but i think Brian pulls it off quite well. Even if he sounds like he is in a post-mental breakdown, tranquilized state.
