How to fix a leaking roof on a $50 deer camp trailer. I'll take you step by step through the process of removing an old failed patch and replace it with a new leak proof patch that anyone can do. You may not wish to do this with your $100K luxury motor home, but this $20 repair is just the ticket for that old leaky trailer!

  • I had a serious problem with water leaking into my home, water would come flooding in through taps and showers, I stopped paying the water bill and now the problem has been resolved, everything is nice and dry now.

  • @Carbon657...LOL...No water, no leak, no problem, issued solved. Now, what about the water?

  • @mrbigtex Well since I stopped the water leaking in through the pipes and flooding my home through the taps and showers I upgraded my roof so that it will allow me to collect rain water, I did this by installing a large hole in it. I then installed several buckets to collect the rain water.

  • @Carbon657... Genius, pure genius!

  • how about patching or sealing around a vent/ a/c unit? man, I have consistent problems in those areas on my '79 Class C motorhome. I 've tried the same elastomeric putty & it will usually hold for only 1 season before it starts too crack & leak again.

  • The key is getting good adhesion. Be sure your surfaces are clean. The reason for most failures is poor prepping of the area. If the area is prepped sufficiently and a doubler panel is placed over the patch then cover with more sealer, i can crack all it wants but should remain sealed under the doubler. If you just spread sealer over a leak and do not cover it with a doubler or patch, the sealer WILL dry and crack causing a leak.

  • Great video. Good instruction.

  • Cool video. I'll try it that way.

  • Great video. Very informative. Thanks for the insight. Hear about 'Flex Seal'?

  • Great information you have on how to fix patches. We are in the process of doing up a Motorhome so that we can travel around Australia. So far we have finished one side of the windows, and started on the other side :)

  • a paint roller works a lot better and keeping consistancy
