My review of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

PLOT :
(From IMDB)
" Robert Ford, who's idolized Jesse James since childhood, tries hard to join the reforming gang of the Missouri outlaw, but gradually becomes resentful of the bandit leader "

  • you need to back away from the mic, use a pop filter, or talk to the side of the mic instead of directly into it

  • yeah, srroy i dont sit next to it anymore just have it on the table

  • I thought there was no faults in the movie at all, the movie was also spot on about the real events.

  • Well to be fair, the only fault i felt was the narration apart from that it was a fantastic piece of work

  • I love the image at 0:53 where steam billows up around jesse. that scene is so effortlessly dramatic, its almost spooky.

  • FUCK you, the narrator was amazing.

  • Spell "thanks" correctly, you fucktard. Seriously. Save the text abbreviations for movies that suck, okay?

  • I just saw this movie yesterday. Absolutely loved it....

  • the narration was great. That guy who provides the voice is amazing and should narrate more movies.

  • i loved the narration at the end was the best

  • I thought the sound track in this movie was incredible and I think the narration was just there to sort explain some of the details of the situation, but I can see where it would get annoying sometimes.

  • In my opinion the narration was only effective during the final hours of Robert Ford's life in this film. Then it seemed to me that he had to explain Bob's inner anguish and his loneliness and that Bob was too embarrassed to do so, even to Dorothy Evans. Thats my take on the narration

  • and not trying to get touchy, but you really failed to acknowledge that you knew the narration wasnt put there with the sole puprose of explination, which would lead one to believe that you think it was...to which I would stress how lacking this film would be without its opening and closing narration. When he explains whats happening 'play by play', listen, and everytime you'll notice that its just an introduction to a bigger spread of thought.

  • You sound like you felt it was your duty to find something negative in it, ya know its okay once in a while to find perfection in a movie, its no reflection on your observation skills as a critic. There were plenty of parts in the film that the narration played an important role, what about when the authorities surround the Ford cabin, or when Bob was on the train looking at the women and them depicting the wives of those slain by Jesse.....
