Gay Hate Crime in the Middle East

This is a plea from a friend of mine who recently lost his gay brother to a hate crime. His brother was a lovely person who did not deserve to die for being gay.

For what it's worth, I apologize for the "human beings" who hate and teach their children to hate. A lifelong atheist, I blame much of this hate on religion. My parents were haters as are most of the people in my life. Those who hate and teach hatred are nothing less than abusive monsters. To teach a child hate is one of the worst forms of abuse.

My heart goes out to you. I wish you comfort and the strength to carry on our worldwide fight for human rights.

ill tell u something (: im from the middle east and TRUE they dont accept gay or lesbain people here,CAUSE our religion is ISLAMIC & 1 of the most important things bout being muslim is to be STRIGHT if u want 2 know y ask me.

i lived in the middle east and also had to worry each and every day of my life that i might be found out. I did not do ANY THING gay when I lived there. I do think a light should be put on this situation. However, consider moving to a place where living gay is more acceptable

My brother is gay also and I'm proud of him. I think it takes a lot of courage and bravery to admit that you're gay in a world where it's not widely accepted. The victim of this disgusting crime must have had that courage inside of him and I admire him for that. Homosexuality just means you are atrracted to people of your own gender. That's not a sin, that's just a way of expressing love to someone else.

I will back you in your fight for equality and freedom of love.

*hugs*. I admire your courage to speak up about this. I really wish I could help LGBT folks in the middle east, but I have no clue how. It's saddens me, even angers me, to hear what happens to homosexuals in places around the world, especially the middle east and africa.
