I fell in love with Shida the Rhino when I went there in 2006. Shida is apparently thriving. Shame about Maalim. I followed his progress. He was a special animal, and would have never lived as long as he did were it for the love and care he received at Sheldrick.If you go to Kenya, please go to Sheldrick. It will change your life.

@tletter, you're so lucky. I just love watching this video but it's tinged with so much sadness. I'm planning to adopt Solio, one of the other rhinos though.
Can I ask, when did you go to the Trust. I'm desperate to go, but is it really expensive etc..?

@JM4EDR We visited the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in July 2009. We paid US $5/person admission (for more details see travelogues (dot) x10hosting (dot) com).
