@killerkrew23 its doesn't mean "to teach" but rather it means "students', that is students of the koran. They are basically an Islamic military group whose ideals are to govern the afghan people through their strict interpretations of the koran. Hence why women are beaten/mistreated in our view, why western style education is frowned upon etc. The Taliban are against everything the West represents (ie industrialized/developed), they believe that people should live a rustic and simple life.Cheers

Everyday it is becoming more and more obvious that the US strategy for fighting terror is failing, thus, reflecting on the US global strategy and influence. The balance is shifting my friend. No the US has to deal not only with Taliban, but AlQaeda in different theaters of operation.

This has been going on for centuries. We won't see the end in our time. Unfortunately the Taliban are the current focus of the Islamic threat.
