Happy birthday to my bestie, xjemifanforeverx! I'm late a day so, I owe you something good. xD

Chapter 4 Part 1

Location and Time: Emergency Room;12:52 P.M.

★Nick's Point of View★

"Demi! Demi!" Selena and I shout at our unconscious best friend who I'm holding upright in my hands.

"Demi, wake up!" I say shaking her.

Now the rest of my family is surrounding Selena, Demi, and I.

"Nick, don't shake her." Kevin instructs me. "It's not gonna help."

I stop.

"Can we please get a room? My daughter just fainted." Dad tells a nurse passing by. He's always thought of Demi as his daughter. "She's shaken up a bit."

"I'm sorry, sir. All the rooms are full at the moment. But we can give you a stretcher or wheel chair to lay her in." She replies.

"One of those will have to do."

"I'll be right back." She says and walks off.

I have no clue how Dad can stay so calm in the worse situations. It makes me really look up to him considering that his two sons were just in a car crash and only one of them survived. Unfortunately, I was that one.

It happened so fast.

"Nick, you said there wasn't gonna be a lot of traffic!" Joe complained.

"That's what the guy at the gas station said." I said taking another sip of my Diet Coke as I was driving.

"Well I don't know how you trusted a guy with a goatee and a beer belly who was peeing in a bottle next to a bush."

I just laughed and kept sipping my drink.

"You're gonna have to use the bathroom again if you keep drinking your drink." He warned me.

"Don't worry and we'll be there soon anyway."

"You said that half an hour ago. You should've let me drive."

"What are you talking about? We're like a block away!" I said and turned up the radio. "Oh! This song is so awesome!" Me and Joe started singing along and were having a good time.

But that's when it happened. As I was driving forward, a truck was coming toward Joe's side of the car at the same time. All I remember is seeing the truck's headlights and Joe was smiling until he saw my panicked face. He stopped smiling and asked me, "What's wrong?" right before the truck slammed right into the car.

The next thing I knew I woke up on a hospital bed with my right hand bandaged up and a headache. A nurse walked in and asked me for my information. I asked if my brother was okay. She said he was still unconscious. About half an hour later my parents came with Frankie and then Kevin and Danielle came. They were all worried. Joe was still unconscious until a few hours later. By then I was released but I waited for my brother. I walked into the room. I was last person who saw him before he... left. He looked pretty banged up with cuts and bandages... it made me feel worse than he looked.
