St Petersburg, Russia 08

Bus tour of St. Petersburg then free time downtown for shopping and lunch. Later we visit Peterhof, palace of Peter the Great, and admire the Golden Staircase of fountains and golden statues facing the manicured gardens. We then include a detailed visit to Catherine Palace, home of the Empress in a splendid garden setting with a lavish interior rivaling Versailles. A boat ride on the canals of St. Petersburg is another must-do in your visit, passing many palaces, parks, monuments and impressive apartments.

@thegreendestiny Yep. Have you seen the documentary "The Rape of Europa"? An genius documentary about the art that was pillaged by Hitler and the Nazis. It was fascinating that American art professors joined the Army in Italy and helped map out the best places for bombing, in order to protect and preserve the ancient architecture, frescos, and sculpture as possible. To this day, there are still organizations and families who are fighting to find their lost treasures. A Must See! Astounding!
