Yes. That's a DOG AND A CAT BATHING TOGETHER. Blows your mind, doesn't it? Pebbles and Melvin were both in dire need of bathing before our holiday events started, so I decided "Why not kill two birds with one stone?". Voila!

MAKE SURE TO READ THE FOLLOWING:
Melvin was born a "teacup" Himalayan with a form of dwarfism causing several health problems. He is blind in his right eye, hence why it is not dilated the same as the left one. He also has seizures, heart problems and growth retardation. Since this video was made he has grown quite a bit and is now happy and healthy.

  • I notice that you don't get Melvin's face wet. Learned from experience?

And does this cat LIKE his bath, or does he just TOLERATE it?

  • In the getting his face wet thing, I actually DO get his face wet, but not with the shower. I do is calmly with my hands. His eyes get a lot of goop in them, so I have to wash his face, but I make sure to do it very gently. :)

And if you watch the "I'm Killing My Cat" video, he's actually doing his normal bath thing, where he runs around and plays. He just tolerates the shower portion, but loves the actual bath part. He'll even jump in on his own.

  • So is washing your cat mandatory, considering his special needs, or do you just give him a bath because he likes it?

  • Definitely more of a mandatory thing.

Mainly because it takes SO much to bathe him, I would rather not do it so often. But because his back legs often give out when he's using the bathroom, he gets dirty rather quickly. My cat, Zoey, rarely gets baths. She only gets them when she gets something random on her (she gets into more trouble than any other cat I've owned).
