I think you did a great job! In response to a previous poster, tickets were sold for Woodstock, but in the end, it was a free concert because tickets were not needed as they tore down then fences. The Stones were playing Sympathy for the Devil during the stabbing. Also the Grateful Dead showed up but never played after witnessing the mayhem. Some say the 60's ended the day Nixon resigned in Aug 1974.

The reason they could not get a permit is..when a band with the crowd and money that the Stones bring in..the city expects to 'get theirs'..when it was free..sour grapes from S.F. and everyone else..except the musicians..that was a time of sadness..the wonder and promise of the sixties was changing and everyone was fighting like hell to keep that from happening..Peace Tony
