The DOT usually concentrates on big rigs so I was surprized to see a landscaper with a pickup and a small trailer getting the once over. Maybe a slow week? oh well, better them than you, right rogertrucker?

  • After all the miles I have driven, I must agree with you all. The worst violations on trailers seem to be those pulled by pickups. I have indeed seen people puling trailers at night without lights which seems idiotic. Good to see the DOT cops nab the small trucks for a change. It gives the open and closed boys a break.

  • I breathe easy durig these DOT safety checks, the only violation I've had was that my trailer safety sticker had expired two days ago, but the trailer was good to go!

    Thanks for the Vid! Cheers!

  • And most of the four-wheelers that pull trailers like these don't bother checking their basic safety issues like brakes, lights, cargo or mirror extensions (for wide trailers), but you can bet (most) truckers do so with their rigs!

  • well, to tell you the truth, some of the most outrageous off-service violations I've seen on the road have been from pick-ups hauling trailers, simple things like a black trailer in the middle of the night with no lights at all.
