Richie Val and Elderberry Wine perform Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville". If you play out in a cover band you have to have a sense of humor. No matter how much you rehearse there will be those nights when you forget a lyric of flub a guitar lead. It happens. I always wanted to have the songs in my head and not rely on a lyric sheet in front of me. Like Bob Dylan said "I know my song well before I start singing". Sometimes though you forget, so you ad lib or skip a line altogether. This video shows one of those times. The second verse is last and the last verse is second. A couple lines I miss and the lead is almost perfect but not quite.
After 30 years I have at least 600 songs in my head I can play start to finish, chords, lyrics, lead, without a lead or lyric sheet. Some nights getting it out of the rolodex in my head is a challenge.
That was a rough one in the middle but no one is perfect. Do you play soley by memorization of lead and tab? Could you have improvised after the first sour note perhaps? Sounds like the bass screwed you up a bit too. Where was he? Just a thought. Tryin to be constructive.

Good job! Forgot to mention tempo a bit too fast....but would you expect anything less from another guitarist...lol. The only critics on your playing are gonna be other guitarist that "think " they could do it better. If they could, I guess they'd be out there doing it! Great Job!
