8th International Myotonic Dystrophy Consortium Meeting (IDMC-8)

The 8th International Myotonic Dystrophy Consortium (IDMC-8) was held Nov. 30-Dec. 3, 2011 in Clearwater, Fla., and explored disease mechanisms, clinical aspects and ideas for future therapies in myotonic muscular dystrophy (MMD).

As part of the conference, a special session was held to provide a research update for families affected by MMD. Dr. Valerie Cwik, MDA's executive vice president of research and medical director, co-chaired the session which was live-streamed on the Internet.
