The Daly City Council cuts the City Clerk's salary in half, then have a cop haul her off because she exceeds the two minute limit. Daly City, where not even the fog can cover up the embarrassing and petty politics.

I know some one that gets regular tickets for parking on his own property!. These idiots remind my of the Half Moon Bay City council. Sal Torres acts like a real pompous jerk in this video. You can tell he detests people giving their comments and shows no respect for the public he is supposed to be serving. Why do people keep re-electing him? I see no redeeming public service qualities about him. Also, I had no idea the City Council were so petty and political. Too bad. We have a long way to go for good government here in Daly City.

why DOES people complain? So I spelled Yee with an L...the election process could be revised if you did something-then it follows that these "technicalities" could be worked out. Just bec we disagree is no reason to pick nits. The city can't afford to send her to school full-time to play catch-up. Did you know that if DC voters do NOT vote by mail-in ballot that the missing vote is counted as a "YES" vote? That's a new bitch...that Hipona is also responsible for and costly to the taxpayer again!

Well, perhaps if Ms. Hipona expects to be treated with respect she should obey the rules set forth by the city council. The time is set to 2 minutes for a reason. Rather than exceeding her time limit and embarrassing herself perhaps she should seek another venue to voice her disagreement with the pay cut. Looking like a fool in front of the very people whose support she seeks just does not lend credibility to her asking to be taken seriously.

I mean seriously, if the city council is smart enough you would think that they would disguise the cut of Hipona's salary among other cuts/furlough. But no, they are stupid enough to single her out, cut more than half of her salary. I won't argue about whether she deserved the cut or not. She was elected by voters. Why does people complain about things like that? What you can do is to get enough people to not vote for her if she is not qualify!! Don't complain about it after the fact!

Hipona is one of the reasons DC's elem. schools are doing so poorly. She consistently voted to give raises to a self-serving supt., 1 time to the tune of 37%! She deserves the cut cuz the experience isn't there. Her supporters are just headline chasers not people who reaslly know her. Sen. Lee supported her cuz she did him. They both lost my confidence long ago, Congrats DC for doing the right thing. Her staff gets more cuz they have experience, DUH!
