We rolled out hilsboro 7:00 am running out we passed up some sweet weed patches, We were on a mission today to get the broadbill in the boat.
the crew was Harry K, Dave (whiteout) and my friend Khaled from Kuwait. Khaled had fished with me before and we only had the chance to swordfish once before. so this was all new to him. We made first drift and came tight on something 20 minutes in and it popped like we hung bottom for a second, we pulled up to find the weld ring on the swivel had broken . Run back made another few drifts had them playing games with us, but persistance paid off today . We came tight with a good size fish, it made a run for the surface took a peak at us and went back down to 700 feet and held tight for next 45 minutes. we had to pull this fish in one inch at a time. was 99 inches , LHP Marina weighed it in at 450. Thanks to all it was a nice catch

  • Thats not fishing... Electric Reels!!

Try catching them on 80 lbs line at least.. IGFA!!!

If you are good try with 50lbs line IGFA.. THATS FISHING!!! Reeling in a 200 to 500 lb swordie from the 1800 bottom in IGFA rules and NOT ELECTRIC its a awsome fight!!! Try fishing for once.. Not Electric Fishing.. BTW GOOD FISH!

  • @Pescarines

How many have you ever caught, I have an 80 wide loaded ready to go. I have caught many of them by hand on a 80 wide with 65 pound braid.IGFA rules what ever I am not ever going to be in the record books I do it for fun and food. I fed over 30 families with that 450 pound sword many who could never afford to buy such a great fish. Man before you throw stones you better know who I am I have released more swords at night on rod and reel than you will ever catch.

  • people who disagree with using an electric reel....it is very difficult to hook up with one of these fish, let alone reeling it in. theres been days where ive gotten out at 730 a.m. and not even get a bite all day. its not like fishing a reef in 60 feet of water, alot of practice goes into swording. its still fun to fish using an electric reel

  • ur SAD to kill that animel tss

  • Nice fish guys!!!!!

  • @weekleyrehab i've just started fishing i fish in the reservoirs with my river fishing rod quite elastic and it can hold up to 6 kg or it'll snap i tested it with a monkey that stole my bait he grabbed onto my hook and i caught a monkey with a fishing rod so how does it feel like to catch a huge fish in the sea? don't think you'll fall on grabbing onto the rod and get eaten by a shark or something?

  • This isn't fishing, it's harvesting...

  • ya, but u need that electra mate if ur just bringing up 15lb weights 3 times a trip

  • Sick video

  • I agree not very sporting using electric reels.

  • Great catch! I wish I could get into daytime, but I still love the night.

  • A 450# sword is a 450# caught by hand or electric. We have just got into day time swordfishing up here in the panhandle of Florida and have found it to be a blast. Alot harder then night time for sure we use a 50 VSW by hand ourseves. Maybe we can get back into it after they open back up the gulf from the oil spill. Our day time up here is 2200' and deeper.Great job on your sword.
