  • @ScanNinViDeo You mean the sexual harassment panda? From south park

  • wait , you forgot something , PEDOBEAR

  • Japan fights immigration because of a collective desire to be homogeneous which, you're right, is racist and xenophobic (and I think I understand what you mean by "innocent racism"). I could chat for hours about this topic, so I won't get into it.

Ultimately, what I meant originally is that I don't think Canada is a better country than Japan (or vice versa). But given the sociopolitical situation, there just happens to be more Japanese immigrants in Canada, than Canadian immigrants in Japan.

  • @smackyo The largest immigrant populations are from China, India, and the Philippines, due mostly to troubling socioeconomic and politlcal situations. If you look up the appropriate stats, you'd realise that the majority of Japanese Canadians are not immigrants, but 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation Canadians. The Japanese people you've met are a minority amongst the immigrant community. That, and your sources are anecdotal and based on personal biases.

  • @ceceyam Talk to the young Women that are leaving Japan in droves because of the unrelenting pressure to be married before 30. I've seen plenty of them here on the streets of Vancouver. Japan is trying to limit immigration due to and let's be honest here racist policies, what's weird is that it's almost an innocent racism which even sounds funny to say. I read one story about the them making robot nurses to care for the old so they wouldn't have to let more Filipino's into the country.

  • @smackyo I'm not saying that Canada's not a good country to immigrate to, but that we accept more immigrants than any other nation in the world. Japan's government is trying to decrease the number of immigrants, so naturally there would be less Canadians immigrating to Japan.

I didn't want to get anecdotal, but I live in Japan. I haven't spoken to a single person here that wants to immigrate overseas. Life here is very comfortable and the people love their country, despite the issues.

  • @REdCr0ss98 I believe "crappy Canada" won the most gold medals of any nation at any Olympics ever 14! Yes count them, 14 gold medals, we heard our anthem play more then any other country. Have fun with all your 2nd and 3rd place medals, Canada's favorite colour is Gold.

  • @Playmeforit Little too early for that celebration. Canada's Women's hockey team won the gold, Canada's Men's hockey team won the gold and Canada finished with the third highest medal total and the most, yes the most gold medals ever won by a single country in any Olympics ever! 14 gold, count them 14! You can keep all your 2nd and 3rd place medals, we're #1 in more events and heard our anthem play more then any other country.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch = )

  • @ceceyam Do you really think that's the "only" reason? I've spoke to many Japanese and Korean women about this especially and the pressure to marry by the time you're 30 is stifling, they come to Canada and for the first time in their lives they feel free of any unfair social requirements that are put on them back home. I'm not going to say one country is better then the other cause I love Japan and Asia for that matter. But I think there is more to it then just an immigration policy.
