  • I like the comment of TheCupcakeGeisha. So true.

  • Never let anyone tell him what to be, and was always a little bit eccentric and strange. You can be gay, straight, lesbian or all of the above and even then you can still appreciate the man who was Quentin Crisp. Truly a man who lived his life the way he wanted and let no one stand in his way, and for that i salute him.

  • they really did break the mould...

unique. love him or hate him, simply unique.

and after all he had to put up with, never seemed to have an ounce of hate in him. even for people who abused him and beat him up.

a sort of strength sadly lacking

  • I don't think that he is wise. I think the he articulates well - But alluring form does not equal genuine content. He's a playwright - Not a credible philosopher.

  • @mrspatrickcampbell You mean "he". :-)

  • The reason this man is SO WISE is because he lived outside the confining, suffocating box of conformity. He was bold and knew exactly what laid beyond the outskirts of the universe, because he was never enslaved within.

    Quentin, thank you for you!

  • Love this man. Ahhhhh Fabulous!

  • He got Valentino dead one. I've always wondered why Valentio's looks bothered me and that's it. He looked more female than male. Maybe that's why he was so popular? He was beautiful as many celebrity men are. They are not just handsome but beautiful. Henry Cavii, Robert Pattinson, those sorts. I'm not saying their gay but don't a lot turn out to be? I wonder if Rudi was? It doesn't matter but it is interesting. What a world to have lived in during those times. Pretty brave.

  • @Angerlevel Couldn't put it better.

  • The wisest man who ever lived. I'm in awe.

  • I,m not gay, but I admire Mr. Crisp. I'm what some would consider an "outsider." I think people get caught up too much on WHY a person is an outsider,is he/she gay, fat, goth, different ethnicity, etc. I think we need to do, as "outsiders" is to be accepting of one another. We all go to the same "church," but just happen to sit in different "pews." Even though I'm not gay, I get where he is coming from. The core of his message is being true to yourself. He is an inspiration for all.

  • He has a short right index finger.
