well the one i had in mind holds an 8th dan in goju ryu. and you? btw....that SHOULD include you...you don't seem so "open minded to all aspect of opinion" ...the point is if you don't tense at exactly the right time its likely you'll injure your wrist. opponents don't stand still.
Mr. Gata man, sorry idk ur name but for what is worth, Our Technical Director commented on ur video. His words, "Very good kata, good for him, very much like Nagamine's concept of attacking with a defensive attack."
@anhkhoinguyen Kobudo is what you're talking about, and usually it's just taught for tradition's sake. We are typically much more likely to be unarmed when trouble strikes, which is why most dojos don't bother teaching kobudo. Ever since karatejutsu (a fighting art) became karatedo (formatted for sport) a long time ago, much has been left out of mainstream karate. It's really crazy. But occasionally you can find a dojo that is very strict about preserving everything traditional.
i agree. but i've heard some karate sensei say they disagree with the relax/clinch/relax method as it has led to many many injuries...if you do that, you better be spot on.
So different from Shotokan but interesting to watch :))
