good point, but i think it works well as it is. They are passionately arguing. Intellectuals for who'd die to defend what they think is right. They can only see their own point. So, that's what the camera has for us when one of em is talking.
This is such a brilliant scene on many levels. The dialogue is fantastic, but I think the actors were not in the room together, showing how great they both are. We only see close-ups of both men, not them in the frame together. The film cost Aronofsky $60,000 to make (or so they say); maybe he couldn't get both men on the same day.
How many minutes into the movie Max says "I'm *so* close"? A youtube link to that scene would be great! (I think it's on their last meeting.)
